Official figure released by Sony Today states that they have sold over five million Playstation 3's across Europe. These figures show that they have outsold Microsoft's Xbox 360 even though it was released before the Playstation 3. Sony also stated that they have sold over 12 million Playstation Portables' and 48 million Playstation 2s. The price is even higher for the Playstation products but appeals to a much broader market compared to the Xbox 360 which is marketed towards adult males. Xbox 360 has sold well in the UK but has not been so received on the continent on a whole. Both Sony and Microsoft's products are both still underselling Nintendo Wii, which seems to have taken Europe by storm by appealing to people of all ages and interests including, families, fitness and karaoke.
